Skip the Lines at Walt Disney World: Vlog Series
We never wait more than 20 min for a ride…it’s like an unwritten rule in our family. My kids don’t have the patience and if we’re honest, neither do I. Any longer and I feel like it just loses some of the magic. In this series, I will walk you through every strategy I use to make this happen!
Part 1: Early Entry☀️🏰
(click the picture to watch the full video)
⌚️Arrive at the park 45 min prior to early entry! Check My Disney Experience App for times!
🪧Follow the posted signs, do not get coffee, do not stop to shop, go directly to rides. (You can do all that later when the park is busy!)
📝 Go in with a plan! If you are hitting a big ride, you need to go directly there! And you may be able to still get on a few others before park opening. The smaller ones you can wander around and hop on!
🧑🧒🧒🧑🧑🧒🧒 Divide and conquer! Decide before hand who wants to do what and split into two groups so no one is wasting precious time waiting! Also, this is the best time to ride something together if your a large group!
😎 I like to reward myself with a midday break for getting up early! So head back to the pool for some R+R!
Part 2: Rope Drop 🤩🪢
(click the picture to watch the full video)
🪢Rope Drop occurs at park opening, and there are no special requirements for this…anyone can do it!
Tips for success:
⌚️Make sure you arrive 45 minutes before posted opening time.
🗺️make a plan to hit attractions NOT open during early entry!
Part 3: Lightning Lanes⚡️

1️⃣ Primeir Pass: Pricey, but most flexible. Just show up and ride, no scheduling or planning. Great for groups that don’t want to rope drop or have limited time in the parks. *You can NOT park hop with this!
2️⃣ Single pass: usually around $15-$20 per person per ride and basically a single ride ticket to the most popular attractions, which naturally have the longest lines in each park.
3️⃣ Multipass: Typsically $20-$25 per person per day, and you can park hop with this! Choose three rides from the list in each park, and each time you scan into an attraction you can choose another! Use as many times as you want! (I have used this 11 times in one day!) See below for my ride guide for my exact strategy to get on every ride!
Part 4: Party Days
(click the picture to watch the full video)
These typically always have low crowds, however:
🥴 No one can guarantee low crowds
⚡️Always get single/multipass if you are looking to make the most of your day!
🚫 The park will close early and you will be pushed out by 6pm. The only way to stay longer is if you have a dining reservation.
🎆 If you do want to make sure to see Starlight and the MK fireworks, buy either a park hopper ticket or add an extra day on to your ticket package!
Part 5: After/Extended Hours
(click the picture to watch the full video)
⌚️Deluxe Hours: rotate parks, typically Epcot and Magic kingdom, but you will get some variations especially during the holidays! This is one of the only ways to see AK at night, and if you haven’t, you need to add this to your bucketlist!! (Usually during the holidays) It’s two hours and has all the big rides open, but not everything! For guests of deluxe resorts only and you will need a valid park ticket! Hopper is the way to go here!
🎟️After hours: This is a separate ticketed event, anyone can purchase. It’s 3 hours after park close but you can enter early (similar to a holiday party) and includes popcorn, Mickey ice cream and bottled beverages! Typically held at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but again there will be some variations! Runs January-Septemberish, and typically not when holiday parties are happening.
Part 6: Length of Ticket
(click the picture to watch the full video)
🤩This strategy is my go to for families that want to spend time in the parks, and I always recommend it especially once they ask for the 4 day hopper! Why? Because it’s only about $70 extra (per ticket, keep in mind ticket prices do vary), and it allows so much flexibility!
🎆 Hit MK for fireworks on arrival day!
🪢 Rope drop HS to ride slinky dog again!
🐭 plan a character meal and hop on a ride you wanted to do again!
The options are endless! This is the best way to slow the pace of your Disney trip!
